Building a Classic

Decided to build this ancient warrior over the weekend. Initially planned to build OOB and paint it as a one-weekend challenge, but I couldn't help adding to it!

Great to see the old Tamiya kits get some love, they are fun to build. Sadly I've ruind myself with the endless accuracy race. Did you paint it with the details like tools and helmet on?

Yes, everything's on there. I would usually paint things separately but I wanted to keep things simple. The helmets and stowage will all get painted after the camo is finished.

Nice, you have a steady hand. Looks great! And certainly saves some time.

Lenny: the camo is airbrushed, but the stowage/accessories are hand-painted. Definitely needed to wear my glasses!

Well the result shows, looks fantastic! What are the straps on the "luggage" made of?

The straps are very thin strips of Tamiya tape. Same for the helmet straps attaching the helmets to the turret lifting hooks.
