How was the kit quality?

The kit quality was great, and everything fit well. It comes with masks for the canopy, which made painting very easy. It was my first try at a freehand camo paint job, and the size made it fun to do. It's an impressive model when it's done - it's half a meter long when done, and the rotor is 10 cm longer (about 18-20 inches)

There were three issues I had: The interior is a little sparse for the scale - if you display it with the aft cargo doors open, you'll want to add something else. The pilot/co-pilot fans on the instrument panel were a little finicky to create - the photo-etch blades needed to be twisted, and I wound up shooting one somewhere in my workspace (I never did find it).

The worst for me, however, were the rotor blades - at 30cm long, they are waaaay too heavy for the mounting hardware. After they broke for the umpteenth time, I wound up flooding the joint between each blade and the rotor housing with 5-minute epoxy. It helped for a while, but they still broke when I moved the model.

In the end, after displaying it at a few shows, losing pitot tubes and other greeblies from the moves, and constantly broken rotor blades, I had enough. It was too big for my display space, and taking up storage space in my workshop, so I finally (gasp!) binned it.

Same here. However, I am giving this kit another try after paying for only SGD$70.00 like I did before.

Following the Iron Law of Lost Greeblies, I'll bet you found the PE fan blades AFTER you binned the model.
