Eric ThorntonOh, it's nice to see the Italian variant. I want to build the Norwegian F-35. How many build kits do you have in storage? I display my built kits, but then my cat destroys them all. 🙁 I might have to do something similar: store everything.
annie shikinami SzerzőEric Thornton not sure how many i have in storage at this point! i have a fair bit of display space, but i build a lot so i'm always running out of room, so the older/less cherished ones end up stuffed into a large plastic storage bin in the attic with a bunch of packing material to keep them safe.
i have recently started going through them and scavenging for parts to re-use on other builds tho.

I greatly prefer to build my models with the gear up and in flight, something that Tamiya really doesn't seem to want you to do with this kit! as a result i had little interest building it once i figured that out. but still, i bought the replacement parts i needed (after hacking up the nose gear area) and persisted.
i like the F-35 well enough, but i honestly don't remember much about building this kit. it goes together so well that before you know it you're already painting. and im sure i made it a bit grimier than the real thing. but i had to do SOMETHING to make it less of a snooze. i used the Tamiya F-35 color lacquer paints, and i think the final coat over it all was a mix of MRP have glass and...a mr color clear matte? or semi-gloss? i do not remember. but i think it looks alright.
i rushed just to get this finished before the end of 2024, like i did with a bunch of other projects. it has overstayed its welcome on my display shelf and will soon get stuff into a storage bin in a closet.
