this one took 2nd place in 1:48 scale jets at the 2025 IPMS Flying Tigers contest. (i thought it was better than my first place Rafale tbh)
this was meant to be a VFA-34 jet when i started building it but i changed my mind during the painting stage and went with these markings instead. it was nearly finished, decals, final matte coat and all - and then abandoned cos i didn't think it was good enough to win anything. but after a few weeks i came back to it and decided to correct the errors. this included stripping down the paint in spots and filling/scribing, all while trying not to ruin any of the decals. and it worked!
i threw all the aftermarket in the world at this thing. and really took my time weathering with oils. i think this is my favorite jet i've done so far, and that's all i've got to say about that!
