The Broken Ear (Canoe)

A funny thing happened while I was working on my Arabian Dhow project... 

The Niña kit comes with this tiny little boat... looks a bit like the canoe from The Broken Ear. 

Of course the ends will need to be extended and elevated. 

Wait. Changed my mind. A bit of epoxy putty and now it looks a lot like the canoe from The Broken Ear... and I had enough putty leftover to make the cargo too! 

A bit of sanding and she’s looking like she should. She has a certain dugout flair now. 

Since I’ve almost used up my tube of silicone caulking... let’s go for broke. A bit of grey this time to replicate the silty waters of the Amazon river. 

A couple of friends dropped by to see how work is coming along. 

A bit more sanding and some benches added. 

Painted brown, but I can still see the seam on the interior. How much do I care about that? 

A bit more paint for the cargo, and we’re done.
