The Castafiore Emerald (Citroën Ami 6)

Fresh off the 3D printer. It looks like I'll have to reprint the shell. 

The new pieces all seem to fit together well. 

Always pays to have a spare for backup. 

Getting the colour right was tricky. I finally settled on a 10:5:1 ratio of Tamiya XF-2 White, X-14 Sky Blue and XF-18 Medium Blue. Not perfect, but close enough I think. 

A bit of painstaking work to get the clear "glass" in place, but I think it works. 

 

I painted the top with a 2:1 ratio of Tamiya XF-2 White and XF-18 Medium Blue. Only Afterwards did I realize that I was using the nighttime image from the album as reference. In the daylight it should be MUCH lighter. 

Tamiya XF-16 Alluminum for the trim. No going back now. 

Taillights painted and wheels on. Coming together now! 

Some clear Tamiya X-24 for the headlights. Now all we need is a couple of printed license plates and we're done! 

The "flying doctor" is mounted using some clear plastic rod. Some CA glue and a bit of monofilament fishing line works wonders to place his hat, a cloud of papers.
