oh that's really cool work you did with the aluminum rod, what did you use as a chisel?

@Matteo - What you see in the photo is a lathe blade.
At first I used a lathe blade, but I don't know if it's because the aluminum is so soft, but it doesn't cut sharp 🙁
So, unlike in the photo, I carved with a diamond file, cut with an art knife, and polished with sandpaper.
I would like to recommend Oilstone.

Like you I'm not keen on the overly done camber so am watching how you do this, looks excellent

Very nice work so far and a handy tutorial.
I also went through a patch of epic disasters with paint. I also use Mr. Color Levelling thinner and waited longer (at least one week) between spraying sessions. I must also add that I used enamels. My attempt at repairing small imperfections was not successful at all and I ended up stripping thee paint back on that particular panel and start again.
